Notifications

What shows in the bell, which emails you can turn off, and where pending invites, offers, and reviews appear.

In the product

The bell is created whenever something happens that Lancer notifies you about. That includes invitations, connection requests, applications, offers, and reviews. Turning an email off does not stop the bell.

Chat messages stay in chat. They are not emailed and they do not use these email switches.

Email you can turn off

Open Settings, then Communication preferences. Each switch controls whether that type is also emailed. Save communication preferences when you are done. Security alerts are always delivered.

The switches include account invitations, invitation accepted or declined, new applications, an application marked in review, application updates, job updates, connection requests, pending project invites, bank transactions to review, and client billing updates.

Needs your attention

The dashboard shows Needs your attention only when something is waiting. A project invitation is shown to the person who was invited. Admins also see an unfinished profile, Stripe not connected, a review to write, an incoming connection request, or a job invitation.

  • Account invitations also appear when you sign in, before you pick an account.
  • Job invitations sit on Jobs under Pending invites.
  • Offers waiting on you sit on that application until you confirm or decline.
  • Reviews waiting on you stay on the dashboard for 14 days after the job closes.
