Reviewing applications
How a client reviews proposals, opens review chat, sends one offer, and waits for the freelancer to confirm.
Who can hire
Only a Super Admin or an Admin on the client account can review applications and send an offer. Open the job from My jobs, then open the application.
A public application starts as Submitted. An invited application starts as In review, and review chat is already open.
What you can do
| Action | When it is available |
|---|---|
| View profile or view application | Any application on the job. |
| Mark in review | While the application is Submitted. This opens review chat and tells the applicant. |
| Review chat | Once the application is In review, or as soon as an invited application arrives. |
| Send offer | While the application is Submitted or In review, and no other offer is already out on this job. |
| Reject | While the application is Submitted or In review. Rejecting cannot be undone. |
A job can have only one offer waiting, or one accepted hire. Send offer does not start the job. The freelancer or agency still has to confirm.
After you send the offer
The application moves to Offer — confirm to start on their side, and to Awaiting freelancer confirmation on yours. You cannot send another offer until this one is confirmed or declined.
- If they confirm, the job moves to In progress and the accounts are connected if they were not already.
- If they decline, the application returns to In review. They can include a note.
- A rejected or withdrawn application cannot be hired.
How the applicant confirms is covered in Applying to a job. Closing the job later is covered in Closing a job.
